Hemp is defined as varieties of the cannabis plant that have been specifically bred to achieve high concentrations of CBD (cannabidiol) or other cannabinoids, and very low concentrations (below .3%) of the primary psychoactive compound found in cannabis, Δ9-THC.

CBD and Δ9-THC are two of over one hundred cannabinoids that make up the cannabis plant. These various cannabinoids react in different ways with the human endocannabinoid system through both CB1 and CB2 receptors in our bodies. More research is being done each and every day on the benefits of CBD and its accompanying cannabinoids.
